Too Funny...my little bump

So last night I was laying on my side, watching tv in bed when all of a sudden I felt a lump move in my lower abdomen and it felt really hard...so I turned and layed on my back, and this is what I saw...lol too funny

Apparently laying right on my bladder is the comfortable spot because I have to go to the bathroom so often now! I have been feeling some kicking (and by kicking I mean bubble popping sensations) every so often since monday, but it's mainly when I'm laying down at night...although as I type this I felt it again.
This is so exciting!!  I'm in love :)

Here's another picture I found...just for fun...my 2 boys, they're so cute :)

Midwife Appt & scheduled baby's big gender debut!

So today was a pretty good day! I had my midwife appt today, and Manny couldn’t make it, but fortunately mom didn’t have to work until 1pm today, so she got to go instead. Worked out great! It was a good visit…baby is doing just fine…measuring right where (s)he should be…heart beat sounded strong…150 bpm this time.

Last night I swear that I felt the baby kick twice, and both times happened to be when Manny came into the bedroom and started talking…baby must love him already :) He doesn’t believe me that I felt it, and I may have been feeling something else, but I don’t think so…I think it was baby…either that or I am going crazy lol

The next great thing was that Margie (midwife) gave me the information for the perinatologist that she works with so that I could schedule the BIG ultrasound!!!! So of course I called as soon as I could this afternoon, and it is scheduled for April 27th at 8am!! I am so excited, and hopefully baby cooperates because I would hate to have to go back for a second one. Margie says that he is a great doctor and they have very great ultrasound machines, so I am hoping for a very clear picture…he will also do all of the measurements and all the other checks to make sure baby is healthy too. Of course I am excited about finding out the gender, but having a good bill of health was just as important…if not more important :) (I had the choice of an ultrasound technician that comes into her office because she has an ultrasound machine, but he charges $125 and she said the clarity of her machine isn’t as great as the doctor’s office…but I wanted to go to the doctor because 1) he takes my insurance (saving money) and 2) because I wanted more than just a gender check…I wanted a check on the health of the baby as well)

So so so excited!! I haven’t discussed this with Manny yet, but I’m not going to give him a choice lol, and I am going to throw a little dinner for our parents at our house…I am going to bake a cake and the inside will be either blue or pink, and the outside will be decorated to where you can’t tell the color inside. After dinner, we will cut the cake, and everyone will find out together what we’re having…for our family far away, I will send a text picture right away so they will know too.

After that, I will post a picture here for the rest of the world to see PINK or BLUE!!

Until next time...here's an update picture...16 weeks and counting...24 weeks to go!

Pictures...13weeks3days & 13weeks5days

So here is the ultrasound from my appointment last Thursday with the urologist.  The right picture at the top is the baby...the big circle far right is the baby's head, and the two bright spots to the left of the head are baby's hands.  Obviously it's not the greatest picture of the baby because they were focused on gettng the picture of the bladder, but I still love the picture, and the baby looks more like a baby than the last ultrasound I got :)
This is me at 13 weeks 5 days.  This was after the concert that me and our friend Amber took Karla to for her birthday!  Still small, but slowly growing...I think I've gained at least 5 lbs now...I never thought gaining weight would be hard, but I am trying...to be on target, the midwife said I should gain a pound a week, so since my appointment with her, I think I've done that, so I'm on the right track...I know when baby starts really growing that it won't be hard to get those extra pounds on :)

Went to the Urologist and got to see the baby!!!

So I have a bladder condition called interstitial cystitis...this morning I went in for a cystoscopy which they stick a camera up through the utethra and into your bladder. They look around to make sure everything is okay, looking for stones or abnormalities, etc. Well the doctor was looking around, and then said "has your OB ever mentioned anything to you about fibroids?" And I said "no", and he said, well there's something pushing up against your bladder right here, and he showed me, and I said "well, I'm pregnant" (It's in my chart by the way) He said "Oh! Well that will do it! :) Well here's your baby from the inside of your bladder then" LOL

After that was done, they needed to do an ultrasound on the bladder to make sure it emptied all the water they had filled it up with. The tech said that the ultrasound machine in the other room was a little better because they were having a problem getting to the bladder because the uterus was sitting right on top...so we got to see the baby moving & punching...it was SOOO cool!! At first she said that she could see the heartbeat and everything, but the monitor was facing away from me...so when she moved the screen around, she couldn't get the right angle again, but the baby was punching when even she got near LOL They finally got the measurements on the bladder, and then the tech gave me a picture just for fun :) The picture just shows the top of the baby's head and you can see the hands, but I still love it!  I'll scan it and post it when I get home.

When I was wating for the consult afterwards with the doctor, I heard all the girls in the hall talking about how cool it was to see the baby, and how one of them was planning on getting pregnant LOL When ever I've gone in, it's always just older people in there, so I'm sure they don't get to see things like that often...Glad my baby could make their day! I know it made mine...I even teared up again...I just can't get enough of seeing the baby growing and doing well!

I guess that makes the wait until May a little easier for our next ultrasound...that's when we'll be able to find out the gender!  woo hoo, I can't wait!

Oh and since this wasn't a baby Dr. visit, I also have to say that things look good with my bladder from the inside...no abnormalities or stones or anything...my bladder is emptying completely, so that is great...he said as far as the pain and urgency/frequency goes, the meds they would prescribe, I can't take right now...but I can follow up with him after the baby is born.  So that was really good to hear that nothing major is going on, and because I am more aware of my condition, I make sure to drink plenty of water each day so that I don't end up getting UTIs frequently.

So that's my story for the day!  Thanks for reading...and I will make sure to post the picture soon!

P.S. I am sooo excited for Karla and Diego to be coming home for the weekend today too!!  What a great day!  (except for the passing of my crazy fish Blusclus who died by suicide last night) poor thing, he'll be missed

Midwife Appointment

The appointment went great...Manny even asked some questions this time LOL He's so shy sometimes :)  Uterus is measuring just right and baby's heartbeat sounded wonderful!!  162 bpm...It was so awesome to hear for the first time!  I can't wait until I actually start feeling baby move around...but I still have several weeks for that.  My next appt is in one month...I was told that I need to start gaining more weight now...It's so strange to me to actually have to gain weight, and I really have been trying the past couple of weeks, but it's actually harder than I thought it would be!  I'm sure that soon enough I'll see the scale move on up though.  She said that with my starting weight she would like to see me gain between 25-30 lbs which is a pound a week!  When she said that, she said "because you have 26 weeks to go until your due date" which made me think, and in the grand sheme of things really doesn't seem that long...I didn't realize how quickly time flies!

It feels just like yesterday when we were anouncing to our families we were pregnant and now I'm already 12 weeks along!  I am really enjoying this journey so far, even with the sickness and nausea.  I am already so proud of how strong my little one is growing!  I can't wat until we know the sex though so we can name and start the fun stff...shopping for baby!!! :)

By Popular Demand

Here is a picture of me yesterday...some of you have been asking me if I am getting a baby bump yet, and in normal clothing, it doesn't appear that I am.  But I took a picture yesterday in my bathing suit (don't mind the towl, I just got out of the shower)...and I think you can probably tell my belly is growing, but I wouldn't consider myself to have a "baby bump yet"  any way, here it is!
Here's a before...

No New News

 Pregnancy Ticker

It's been a couple weeks, so I thought I'd stop by and write a little...I found this cute pregnancy ticker :)

No new news with the pregnancy so far though...I have been battling this cold for over three weeks now, and it has made me soooo exhausted :(  But I think I am finally getting over it! yea!!  the bad part, my nausea came back yesterday grrr...I was kinda expecting it just because I got it a week before I got sick, then it went away while I was sick, so I figured my body was compensating, but now it's back again.  I gagged on oatmeal this morning because my gag reflex has gone psycho too lol  Just the texture alone of the oatmeal set me off.  Oh the Joys!! haha

We go to our first official midwife appointment next week, so I am looking forward to that...I am also a little nervous just because I haven't really gained any weight due to my ever-lasting cold, so it does concern me a little, but I try and remain positive!  So that's why I haven't posted any new pics because there really not much to see lol...I know soon enough I will have plenty of pictures to share of my ever growing belly :)

Now off to school to take a test! joy joy!
